First post woo!
Hello, all! My name is Fuuten, girl_who_is1337 for long, and I'm exploring the wide wonderful world of cosplay. I have one active costume and one in the making right now, so that's all exciting. More on those later.
I first got into anime when I was in eighth grade, due to an interest in webcomics and a geeky friend who shared that interest. He told me about a local convention called Metrocon, and encouraged me to go. I did, and I've never been the same. I've gone to Metrocon every year since, and I've started volunteering there to help out as much as I can.
I started cosplaying my second year at Metrocon with a simple generic schoolgirl outfit. After that it was somewhat of a downhill slide, with winning fourth place at Fantasy Hero Con's costume contest and plans for more elaborate costumes at further conventions. I even got into the cosplay skit scene with a lot of my friends, and we seemed to be crowd pleasers (fortunately enough). My skill at putting together costumes has grown, and I hope my skill at the sewing machine will improve likewise.
Right now, I have a completed costume of Kyo from Dir en Grey - his Drain Away costume. I am in the middle of creating a costume for Veralidaine Sarrasri - Daine for short - from Tamora Pierce's
Immortals quartet. This'll be my first time actually *making* a piece of the costume instead of foraging for it, so we'll see how it goes.
Signing off for now!
Love,
Fuuten
